Palazzo alle Mura is located in the village of Staggia near Siena. Staggia Senese was an antique fortress originally crossed by the ancient Via Francigena which connected the Papal States to the rest of Europe and contributed to the development and importance of the village.
Due to its strategic location, the village, characterized by its imposing castle (XIII century) with its walls, has always been, during the years, reason of dispute between the rival Guelph Florence and Ghibelline Siena.
